Mystery & Mayhem

Mystery & Mayhem

Book Review for Mystery & Mayhem Series published by Nomad Press

Aimed at ages 9-12 years old, the Mystery & Mayhem Series seeks to tell factual tales of some of history’s most amazing exploits, adventures, catastrophes, and brain-boggling, heart-pounding mysteries.

Each book highlights five different true stories within its subject matter. The books give what some would say are good or positive stories from history along with a few not so positive tales.

For example: In Great Escapes: Real Tales of Harrowing Getaways, author Judy Dodge Cummings covers

  • The survival of Douglas Mawson in the extremely harsh conditions of the Antarctic,
  • The escape of William and Ellen Craft from Slavery,
  • The escape of an eleven-year-old Jewish boy, Simon Gronowski, from a train headed to Auschwitz,
  • The tale of Tunnel 29 under the Berlin Wall, and
  • A crime club of Alcatraz inmates escaping from prison in 1962.

Here is the full list of books in the Mystery & Mayhem series listed by the author:
